Top Seven Features of IPhone OS 4.0 You Should Know

The introduction of Apple iPhone OS 4.0 on Thursday, April 8, 2010 made a new way of completing the puzzle that iPhone started long ago. I can still remember how many complaints have been received by Apple Support about the bugs that consumers have experienced. Thus, the company strived to do more about it by releasing fix patches and made the Operating System of their iPhone evolved. Right now, we are in the fourth generation or the fourth stage of evolution of iPhone OS. Apple is on the verge of releasing their Latest Technology Innovation when it comes to making really powerful and smart phones.

There has been more than a hundred changes and fixes brought by iPhone OS 4.0. However, Steve Jobs (CEO) and Scott Forstall (Senior Vice President) focused more on delivering the dynamic seven highlights or what they so-called "tent poles" of iPhone OS 4.0. Let us try to tackle them one by one;

#1. The Multi-tasking Capability of iPhone OS 4.0

I have to be honest, I am not happy with my iPhone since I cannot do multi-tasking. However, I had to stick with it since I knew from the very start that Apple will surely release other OS with this capability. However, iPhone 3GS arrived but still I wasn't able to hear any news about the multi-tasking capability. I was even thinking it won't come into reality until I heard rumors about iPhone OS 4.0 which I was reluctant to believe. Well, Thursday was the judgment day and it made me real happy.

iPhone OS 4.0 is made to fulfill yet another lacking side of Apple iPhone. Although, not all models of iPhone can be compatible with this OS, still I am happy since mine is one of the compatible ones. For the ones who do not know yet, iPhone OS 4.0 is only compatible with iPhone 3GS and third generation iPhone and iPod Touch.

#2. The E-Mail

I never had any problems when it comes to e-mail capability of my iPhone. Although, obviously, it still lacks some improvements due to its limited options for sorting message and un-unified inboxes. Happy to say that iPhone OS 4.0 can resolve those problems.

With this new OS you will be able to add multiple Exchange accounts and quick switch between these accounts. Furthermore, you can organize your emails by thread and open the attachments using your preferred apps. But most importantly, you will now have a unified inbox.

#3. The Folders

I am sick and tired of scrolling down through all the seven home pages just to find my preferred app. I know you are, too. The idea of home screen folders will surely make my life a little easier when using iPhone. What I have to do is to long press the home screen, 'til such time that the icons jiggle, and I can take an app and drop it on top of the other to create a folder.

To change the default name or see the contents of the folder, you just have to tap it and enable expanded view. But I am not sure how many apps you can put inside one folder or if there is a limit to it. It is for you to find out.

#4. Enterprise

Forstall made a statement that 80% for Fortune 500 companies are now using iPhones. The fact is, iPhone has not reached what BlackBerry have reached so long as it concerns the IT department. My thought is, Apple will never stop pursuing such market that is why they have added plentiful of capabilities to their new OS.

The wireless app distribution, enhanced data protection, multiple exchange account, support for SSL VPN from Cisco and Juniper and support for Exchange 2010 are just some of the additions you can enjoy with iPhone OS 4.0.

#5. Get iBooks

With OS 4.0, iPhone owners will be able to get iBooks on their devices; iBooks is the Apple's e-book reader. With this capability, I am pretty sure I can get access to Apple's iBoodstore to purchase fresh contents and ebooks. Now, since I also got an iPad, do you think I will be able to read my favorite ebook through it without buying another? Absolutely! Also, I can sync the current page I am reading.

#6. The iAds Functionality

This is really new functionality for iPhones. Steve Jobs and Scott Forstall spent a lot of time explaining about this feature on Thursday. It may be helpful for others as it will cater ads which you can easily click to find information on various advertisements you may be able to see in you iPhone. Alright, let's say that you are seeing an ad about the movie "Avatar" upon clicking on it you will see a preview or search for theaters which are showing such movie.

#7. Game Center

I am pretty sure Apple is still doing some improvement on this as it will come later this year. If you really love playing in a social gaming network, this functionality is what you are looking for; you may be able to invite your friends to play with you or share achievements on all your games. I bet, this one's gotta be fun enough.

Other Changes

Did I mention earlier that iPhone OS 4.0 has more than a hundred new changes? Well, it is true but I will be able to write a book about iPhone OS 4.0 if I will get into details about all of them. Here are a few which you can easily spot when you use your iPhone with its newest OS;

• Larger fonts for alerts, texts and emails

• Spell-check capability

• Persistent WiFi

• Search text messages

• Create favorite playlists

• iPod out

• Recent Web searches

• Etc, etc...there are lots of them.

Seems to me that iPhone OS 4.0 is going to complete the puzzle on iPhone-this is just one of the Latest Technological Innovations [http://latesttechnologicalinnovations.com/] you will be able to know this year. iPhone 4 Case - Top Reasons Why You Need an iPhone 4 Case Right Now!

The iPhone is truly a marvel of modern engineering and technology. The phone that caught the world's attention 3 years ago with its beautiful interface and touch screen is today arguably the most popular Smartphone around. The 4th edition - iPhone - is no different and continues the tradition of excellence associated with the device and its manufacturer, Apple. The iPhone 4's beautiful, high-resolution screen, impressive selection of apps, and innovative features such as Face Time have made it the first choice of technology enthusiasts and ordinary users alike. However, despite its impressive array of features, it still remains a delicate device. This is the reason why you need an iPhone case.

iPhone 4 cases is a must have accessory when you buy your phone. Without it, you'll be hard pressed to protect the screen from scratches or other damage. The phone itself can get dirty very easily, especially if you are in the habit of using it with sweaty hands, etc. Buying an iPhone 4 case, therefore, is not merely a choice but a necessity.

The latest edition of the device, iPhone 4, presents another problem - low network reception. Reams upon reams have been written about the iPhone 4's reception issues, and Apple itself has been vague about the possible causes or solutions. As of now, there is really no way o solve the reception issue other than by using a specially designed iPhone case.

Basically, most users complain that there is a loss of network reception whenever their hand or finger touches the lower left side of the iPhone 4. The traditional way of holding the phone requires the user to place his hand around the lower left side of the phone. Consequently, the iPhone 4 suffers from frequent loss of reception since most users are used to holding the phone the traditional way.

One way of solving this reception issue is by using a specially designed iPhone 4 case. This case is called a 'bumper' case and is made of special silicone material that wraps around the phone's antenna and amplifies the signal. This way, even if your hand touches the lower left side of the phone, you won't suffer call drops or sudden loss of reception.

Most of these bumper cases come in attractive designs and colors that can amplify not just the signal strength, but also the attractiveness quotient of your phone. In fact, one of the biggest reasons why people invest in iPhone 4 cases is to imbue the phone with some of their own personality. The iPhone 4 may be an exceptionally beautiful device, but it suffers from a lack of variety: every iPhone across the globe looks the same.

Consequently, one way to make your phone stand apart from the crowd is to use an iPhone case. You could even have different kinds of cases for different occasions - a leather case for office and business, a plastic one for regular use around the house, an armband case for the gym, and a trendy, colorful one for a night out. Really, an iPhone case can fulfil as many roles as you want it to.

There are really no reasons why you shouldn't invest in an iPhone 4 case. It protects your precious device, amplifies its attractiveness, and even helps solve the reception issue. Truly, an iPhone 4 case is a must-have accessory.

Your Options When Selling Used iPhones Include a Company That Deals With iPhone Sales Exclusively

When faced with the decision of moving into a newer iPhone model, you have several choices in selling your used iPhone. There are several online sites that can help you find a willing buyer and even one that will buy your used or even broken iPhone and sell it for you. Either way, these options are better than merely throwing your used iPhone away or stowing it away in your dresser drawer to collect dust.

First, it's best to not simply throw away your used iPhone. If you choose to merely toss it in the trash, you miss out on the opportunity to receive money for your used or broken iPhone and are also denying others the opportunity to share the technology that iPhone provides. Not everyone can afford a brand new iPhone. The prices can be quite high. Therefore, many wait to buy a used iPhone from friends or on an online auction website. Furthermore, you are missing an opportunity to receive money in exchange for a phone you won't use anymore. With the money you receive, you can buy a newer, better phone or put it towards something else. There really is no good reason to keep the used iPhone stored away or throw it in the trashcan.

Now that you've decided to consider putting your used iPhone up for sale, there are several options awaiting you. You can use Craigslist, eBay, or a company that deals exclusively in iPhones sales.

First, you can use Craigslist to sell your used iPhone. This is a fairly simply website that does not require you to sign up or jump through many hoops before using it. It was designed with this in mind. The creator wanted to offer a free, unregulated website where people could meet and set up events and get-togethers. Eventually, it evolved to where visitors were putting products up for sale and other visitors were buying them. Since Craigslist is merely a site with thousands of posts for each city, there is no pay-pal or other payment system provided. That means if you find a buyer for your used iPhone, you will work out a way to exchange the product for cash. What this generally involves is a scheduled meeting with the buyer at a neutral place such as a grocery store parking lot or a coffee shop. There you exchange the iPhone for cash.

Second, you can use eBay to sell your used iPhone. This website is much more controlled than Craigslist. What results is a longer initial registration process before you can post your product and more hoops to jump through in order to make the exchange. You will need a pay-pal account, which can cost you money once the transfer is made. You will also likely mail the product, which can be a hassle. Since eBay is an online auction irrespective of location (whereas Craigslist is categorized by city), you may be mailing your iPhone across country or even overseas.

Third, you can use an online company that deals exclusively with iPhone sales and thereby avoid the hassle of finding a buyer yourself. All you do is contact the online company and let them buy the used iPhone from you. They will give you cash for your iPhone and then find a buyer for you. There is at least one company who says on their website "we buy broken iPhones." This means that while you were unable to get rid of your broken iPhone on eBay or Craigslist, this company will take the broken phone off your hands and even pay you for it. Dealing with a company that specializes in iPhone sales makes it much easier on you. You won't have to post on Internet auction sites or deal with a buyer. You will get cash right away without having to set up a meeting or pay for a pay-pal account. It's simply an exchange of iPhone for cash.

Whenever you've decided to sell your iPhone in order to receive some extra cash, check out cashforiphones.com and let them do the work for you.

People across the country are reaping the benefits of selling used iPhones.

An Easy Fix - iPhone Glass Replacement

As excited as new iPhone owners are when they take their first iPhone home, eventually, they become used to their new toy, and their level of caution when handling an iPhone wanes. Inevitably, the day will come when the iPhone slips out of a hand and goes crashing across the floor, leaving everyone in the room cringing at the potential damage done. When the guilty party retrieves their phone, revealing a crack in the face, the cycle of emotions will look something like this: anger at themselves, sadness for their iPhone, and eventually, the dread of figuring out what comes next.

While in the early days of the iPhone, a cracked face may have seemed like a veritable death sentence for an iPhone, today this is a common problem. The first step is for users to forgive themselves for having slippery fingers, after which point they should power their scarred iPhone up. If the screen is still functioning, the damage was less serious than it could have been, as the liquid crystal display, or LCD, is still intact. Today's iPhones have two screens, the exterior screen that we touch to operate the phone, and the LCD, which actually projects the images that we see on the screen.

When the display of an iPhone is functioning after drop that has resulted in a cracked screen, the exterior screen has been damaged, but the LCD is still functioning (if the display does not work, then both the exterior screen and the LCD have been ruptured - much worse). This means that users will need an iPhone glass replacement, rather than the more expensive glass and LCD replacement. An iPhone glass replacement is an extremely common procedure, and one that can be performed at almost any iPhone repair store.

Alternatively, many technically competent iPhone users may be able to perform an iPhone glass replacement themselves. In such cases, these users will simply need to seek out a dealer of iPhone replacement parts and purchase an exterior screen, also referred to simply as iPhone glass. Even users who decide to have their exterior screen professionally replaced should do a quick price check on replacement glass to make sure that the repair shop chosen to perform the iPhone glass replacement has accurately priced their replacement parts.

Whether choosing to replace the exterior screens themselves or to have the job performed by a professional, the most important thing for users to remember is that broken glass is no reason to replace their iPhone in its entirety. The cost of an iPhone glass replacement is a small fraction of the cost of a new iPhone, and chances are that if the damage caused by being dropped, sat on, or otherwise crushed did not even reach the LCD, the rest of the iPhone in question is in perfect working condition. The increase in market share of the iPhone has brought about a cottage industry tailored to fixing damaged iPhones, meaning that at this point, almost any broken component can be replaced in a cost-effective manner. So with the exception of catastrophic injury, deciding to upgrade should be the only reason to give up on an old iPhone.

From logic boards to LCD screens to back covers, http://www.iPhonepartspro.com has everything you need to get your phone back in great shape. With a full line of iPhone repair parts.

How To Choose An iPhone 4 Case & Not Go Crazy In The Process

If you are among the millions of people who have gotten one of the new iPhone 4's, you should really consider getting a case for it. While the iPhone 4 is fairly sturdy, it is a good idea to protect it as it is quite an expensive piece of technology. There are so many different cases to choose from, though, how do you know which one to get?

The first of the iPhone 4s shipped with defective antennas, so to solve the reception and dropped call problem; you will want to look for an iPhone 4 case that protects the antenna area. The basic bumper case that you can now get from Apple protects the phone from the reception problem, but there are many other cases from other manufacturers that have different features, protect the rest of the phone better and look nicer too.?

The most important thing to look for in an iPhone 4 case, beyond the antenna protection, is protection for the screen and body of the phone. Since the iPhone 4 is so sleek, sexy and attractive, you don't want dents and scratches to mar its shiny look. The sensitive touch screen is particularly susceptible to scratches and cracks. A good case will protect the iPhone from being dropped and cracked as well as scratches. If you drop it and it cracks, you will need a new iPhone. A new case is much cheaper.

The buttons and ports need to be protected from debris and dust as well. Dirt, lint, dust, sand, and other stuff often get embedded in the accessory port. If the contacts in the port get dirty or gummed up with stuff, the charger and data cable will not work at all. The best iPhone 4 cases protect the whole device, including the buttons and ports while still allowing access to these buttons and ports without taking it out of the case.

Another feature you will want in a good iPhone 4 case is protection for the camera lens. The tiny lens can easily get scratched or get dirt in it. You will need a clear cover for the screen and lens that will still allow you to use the camera.

Another essential feature of an iPhone 4 case that you may or may not have considered is style and uniqueness. The iPhone itself is a very elegant and sexy accessory, but an iPhone is an iPhone. They all look about the same. An iPhone 4 case can be a beautiful fashion accessory that says something about you personally. There are so many different designs, colors, shapes, sizes and styles to choose from, you are bound to find one that expresses your own personality.

In essence, an iPhone 4 case is an essential for anyone with an iPhone 4. It will resolve the dropped calls problem, protect the screen, camera, ports and buttons, while making a fashion statement too. It really will protect your investment.

10 Features of Apple iPhone 4 Appealing to You

True hardcore Apple fans probably know everything about the Apple's new next-generation iPhone 4, which was officially announced at WWDC in the beginning of June. The entire world found itself taking a look at the very familiar design. Well, the look of a new device wasn't really much of a surprise because those who were curious enough knew what the device looked like before the release due to some indiscretions from Gizmodo and Vietnam-based website Tinhe.

Nevertheless, it was not just about the look, though it is incredible, especially when the device is fitted into the pretty iPhone 4 case. Consumers could find much more about the new Apple's iPhone 4, including many technical details making it a very attractive device to own. In case you are already thinking of starting saving up to get this thing, here are some reason for you to do that.

Longer battery life

While giving his keynote speech at WWDC, Steve Jobs announced that the battery life of iPhone 4 will be significantly improved, which can't be ignored. Anyway, how would you ignore 7 hours of talk time on 3G, 10 hours of video or 40 hours of audio playback, 10 hours of web browsing on Wi-Fi or 6 hours on 3G? Aren't these figures impressive?

FaceTime video chat

That's actually one of the best new options available in the newly released iPhone 4, if not the very best one. Although it only works over Wi-Fi networks, such a useful thing is worth it. The feature allows the user to enjoy live chats with those who matters to them (as long as the second party also owns an iPhone 4). So the advice is to start saving up for two devices at least.

Improved design

One should admit that the new iPhone 4 looks much better than the earlier version. Probably, it doesn't have so many curves, but shows plenty of glass, making the look modern and cool. For those Mac users out there who always wanted to accessorize their PC with an Apple handheld of the matching color, the iPhone 4 also comes in white. The advice (in case you are among those but all the white ones are gone) is just to put a white iPhone 4 cover on your device and it will match perfectly.

Enhanced camera

This is quite a reason for many users to opt for the iPhone 4. In fact, the device now sports a very serious sensor with 5 megapixels and backlight, which means that the quality of the pictures taken in bad-light conditions will increase a lot. Add here the presence of a LED flash, doubled as an LED video light, plus 5x zoom and tap to focus, and you will receive a perfect device to take photos of high quality.

HD video

One of the major updates that plenty of people have been waiting for. New iPhone 4 allows to easily record and edit videos via the iMovie application for iPhone, and even upload them onto the web. This means that the device owners will also own a full-fledged multimedia pocket studio, without paying extra for it.

Improved gaming capabilities

New iPhone 4 has borrowed Apple's A4 chip from the company's iPad tablet. This CPU makes the device much more powerful than the 3GS. It also features built-in accelerometer, which the consumers could get accustomed to if they used the previous versions of iPhone. In addition, it also has a gyroscope enabling 6-axis motion sensing like up and down, forward and backward, pitch and roll and side to side, which makes it much handier for gaming purposes.

Retina display

That is the name of the most advanced display that any of the handheld Apple products have ever had. Specifically, the 3.5-inch iPhone 4 display features 960*640 pixel resolution (which makes 326 pixels per inch), turning it into the digital perfection. It means that it would be impossible to even distinguish the pixels on the smooth screen, so all you will see is a clear, high-definition image. The advice is to take care of the display's safety right after the purchase. One of the solutions is using a protecting film or iPhone 4 cover.

iBooks app integrated

Apple's iPhone 4 follows the Kindle's path and offers access to a feature allowing the consumers to start reading e-book on one of the Apple's family devices like iPhone 4 and then continue reading on another one - iPad or iPod touch, for example.

New iOS 4

The new operation system is one the biggest advantages of iPhone 4. The device runs the iPhone OS 4, bringing about an entirely new set of attractive features like multi-tasking and folders. The iOS 4 is considered a huge step forward for the company, as the handset allows users to enjoy it at its best. Although OS 4 is planned to be available on the 3GS too, it won't run this fast anyway.

Fanboyism

The simplest reason for some people, but perhaps the strongest one, is fanboyism. You know, there are people out there ready to buy anything Apple releases just because it's Apple. Those who adore the company and its philosophy will undoubtedly opt for the iPhone 4, especially after reading through the other reasons mentioned above.

Why Choose a Free PAYG iPhone Over a Contract iPhone?

When you sign up for an iPhone on contract you are putting yourself in to a minimum 24 month tie in with the network you choose.

The monthly costs of an iPhone on contract is at least £30 a month ranging up to £70 for the high demand users; if you are using less than 600 minutes a month and 300 texts it would be far cheaper in the long run to have a PAYG iPhone. Although buying an iPhone is expensive outside of a contract the advantages can outweigh the being tied down to a network on contract.

The PAYG packages available for iPhones now are almost on par with contract iPhones in that if you pay say £15 month on your top up you can get double call time and extra free texts, all this without being tied down for two years to anyone of the three networks which offer iPhones.

So what about claiming a free iPhone saving you over £450?

Well using the information we have right here on our website you can indeed claim a free iPhone which is either O2 Orange or Voda phone. You can of course unlock the iPhone so you are not restricted to anyone network.

If you still decide you want an iPhone then the best iPhone deals can be found right here also we have teamed with the best networks to find the cheapest iPhone deals in the UK, all three networks offer the same package deals as they are all tied with Apple who have asked them all to offer the same packages.

If when you decide to sign up for an iPhone contract please make sure you choose a network which offers the best coverage for the area you live in, the last thing you would want is to be tied in to a two year contract only to find you cannot get a signal when at work or home.

The iPhones available are the older 3G models and the new iPhone 3GS, the 3GS offers a much faster internet experience and also the latest firmware has enhanced the use of the iPhone, this gives the end user far more options then with the older 3G model. Then you have a choice of either black or white which at the moment is the only choice, but as with all Apple products it wont be too long before more colour's become available same as the iPod range.

The sizes of the iPhone memory range from 8GB on the older 3G models to 32GB on the newer 3GS models, personally most people will be more than happy with the 16GB, the amount of music videos & games you can use with 16GB is amazing.

Myfreeiphone have been running since 2007 and in that time have offered a free iPhone and the best iPhone deals in the UK.

Taming the Corporate iPhone

iPhones have become the ice cream of the corporate mobility space. The wide screen and slick user interface are irresistible and the countless applications are the toppings that create innumerable "flavors" to choose from.

However, while I scream, you scream, we all may scream for iPhones, in the corporate world, they can be little more than empty calories when not properly managed. iPhones can be complicated to support and present data security concerns that must be considered.

Luckily, there are tactics available to you to ease the burden on your IT team, help your iPhone users perform at their peak, and allow you to integrate the iPhone into your mobile device offerings without undue risk. Integrated Mobile offers the following tips:

Update your Wireless Policy

While your Wireless Policy cannot physically prevent a user from downloading one of the over 100,000 applications that may or may not be appropriate for your business, it is your first line of defense helping you gain control of the countless ways that iPhone users can use (or misuse) their devices.

In addition to defining how iPhones and other devices are to be deployed, administered, and supported, your Wireless Policy should cover social networking, texting, acceptable applications, internet downloads, etc. You may also stipulate the use of a VPN whenever accessing corporate data over Wi-Fi.

Start your iPhone Users off Right

Procurement sets the stage for proper usage going forward. A new iPhone should land in the user's hands with the plan, accessories, applications, email setup, and configuration settings outlined in your Wireless Policy. This will allow the user to start working right away and improve the chances of adherence to your Wireless Policy going forward.

Your mobile asset management team may also wish to use the Restrictions functionality available on the iPhone. Located in Settings -> General -> Restrictions, this area is protected by a passcode and enables an authorized user to prevent access to certain functionality including: YouTube, application installation, the camera, movies, etc.

Secure your iPhones

As with all mobile devices, security is extremely important. The iPhone 3GS protects data by encrypting information in transmission, at rest on the device, and when backed up to iTunes. Other features and settings can help prevent unauthorized use of the device.

- Take advantage of the Passcode Lock functionality -

Whenever the device's display locks, whether due to Auto-Lock or the iPhone Sleep button, Passcode Lock requires a four-digit code to be entered before the device can be accessed again. The Passcode Lock configuration area also has an Erase Data option, which enables a complete wipe of your iPhone after 10 failed passcode attempts. This functionality can be used to guard against data loss in the event of a lost or stolen phone.

- Be careful with Wi-Fi -

While the iPhone lets you connect to high-speed wireless networks for faster Web browsing and better data coverage, employing Wi-Fi networks without taking the proper security precautions can leave the device open to hackers. Only connect to Wi-Fi networks using Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) or another wireless security protocol. (You should be prompted for a password when you connect.) Then, to ensure that you don't unknowingly connect to Wi-Fi networks while on the go, you should enable the iPhone's Ask to Join Networks function.

- Connect to your Organization's Virtual Private Network (VPN) -

VPNs use an encrypted Internet connection that acts as a secure "tunnel" for data. They are often used within organizations to enable users to securely access the company's network behind a firewall.

The iPhone supports VPNs that use the L2TP, PPTP, Cisco IPSec, and a number of other VPN protocols, and it works over both Wi-Fi and cellular data network connections.

To configure your iPhone's VPN, go to Settings -> General -> Network -> VPN and then choose "Add VPN Configuration". Ask your network administrator which settings to use. In most cases, if you've set up a similar VPN on your computer, you can use the same VPN settings for your device.

- Access your email securely -

Many companies use Microsoft Exchange Server, which enforces its security protocols through the iPhone. With the introduction of Lotus iNotes ultralite, Lotus Notes users can also securely receive their corporate mail via the iPhone.

For web mail, check your iPhone email settings to make sure you are using secure sockets layer (SSL) which encrypts mail that is sent and received via the device. Or, access your email portal through Safari using SSL. Use https instead of http and check for the image of the lock at the bottom of the screen.

- Optimize your Safari Browser Security Settings -

Most iPhone Safari security settings are turned on by default but can be modified by clicking the iPhone Settings icon and then scrolling down and selecting Safari. Make sure that the Block Pop-ups button is switched to "On". Then, check your Safari cookies settings. By default, the iPhone Safari Accept Cookies function is set to "From Visited", but you may want to disable cookies completely by selecting "Never".

Support your iPhone Users

Although the iPhone OS is comparatively stable and the interface is user-friendly, issues and questions will arise. The last thing you need is an iPhone user who cannot be productive because they are on hold with Apple or are unable to obtain support.

To keep your mobile users performing at their peak, make sure that you have resources on-hand to answer questions, resolve issues, and fix or replace broken devices. Whether you hire internal IT staff or outsource to the mobility specialists at Integrated Mobile, quality support is key to a productive mobile workforce.

Remote Administration

Your mobile workforce is, by definition, mobile. This can present challenges for those responsible for securing and configuring devices for remote users. Data may also need to be remotely wiped from lost or stolen devices.

A number of companies such as Good Technologies, Sybase, Dell, and Apple themselves have developed remote administration solutions for iPhones. Costs and feature-sets vary widely. Consult the experts at Integrated Mobile to determine which solution best meets your organization's needs.

Iphone - Support the Third Generation Like the UMTS and HSDPA 3.6 Networks

Most of the people buy an iPhone only because it has Internet connectivity. You can access the internet to connect to a local area available with the iPhone. You can connect to Wi-Fi or a wide area GSM or EDGE network, in both second-generation 2G wireless data standards. The 3G iPhone support the third- generation like UMTS and HSDPA 3.6 networks. It does not support the HUSPA networks. Only the 3GS iPhones support the HUSPA 7.2 networks. 3G was introduce in July 2004 by AT & T. but in late 2007 it was seen that it was not known well in US and the chipsets not capable enough, to be included in the iPhone. Which support 802.1X a confirmation system commonly used by university and corporate? The Wi-Fi networks were added in the 2.0 version update. When you will try to connect the phone Wi-Fi network it will ask you for a password. Otherwise, you can join close Wi-Fi networks manually.

The iPhone will certainly choose the strongest network, connecting to Wi-Fi in the place of EDGE when it is available. In the same way, the iPhone 3G and 3GS choose 3G to 2G and Wi-Fi also. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 3G can all be deactivated personally. There is an Airplane Mode which disables all wireless connections at once. The 3G iPhone has an utmost download rate of 1.4 Mbps in the United States. Moreover, files downloaded over cellular networks must be smaller than 10 MB. Bigger files, often email attachments or pod casts, must be downloaded over Wi-Fi. It has no size limits file. If Wi-Fi is occupied, one workaround is to open the files directly in Safari.

A Safari is the iPhone's local web browser, which displays pages similar to its Mac and Windows counterparts. Web pages can be viewed in portrait or landscape mode and supports automatic zoom by spreading apart fingertips on the screen, or by double-clicking text or images. The iPhone does not support Flash or Java. There is a maps application which can access Google Maps in map, satellite, or hybrid form. It can also show directions between two locations and also traffic information. Through the iPhone's announcement, Jobs demonstrated this feature by searching for close by Starbucks locations and then placing a prank call to one with a single click. It also support for public transit, walking directions and street view.

This software was added in the version 2.2. But there is no voice-guided map-reading. The 3GS iPhone can adjust the map with its digital compass. Apple has also developed a separate application to view You Tube videos on the iPhone, which streams videos after programming them using the H.264 codec. You can also view simple weather and stock information in the iPhone. The iPhone users can access Internet regularly, and in any place. According to Google, the iPhone gives 50 times more search requests than any other mobile handset. The normal Internet usage for an iPhone customer is more than 100 megabytes. It is found that 88% use the internet and 98% of iPhone users use data services.

Choosing Between iPad and iPhone 4

iPad is an Apple device that has got all those tons of advertisements, reviews and magic features, generating record sales. However, you might still haven't been assured that it is worth buying. You might be more of an iPhone user, and probably you have had the iPhone for a while so far, and even bought recently an iPhone 4. Still, you are intrigued by another device - iPad, and want to compare it to your beloved iPhone 4 in specific aspects. Below you may find the answers to many of your questions regarding the two gadgets.

First of all, for those frequent readers the best thing in the iPad is the size of its screen. Although iPhone 4 is quite sufficient for using the iBooks app, you can also get access to the iBooks with the iPad. And although the Retina display of iPhone 4 is very impressive, it's still just 3.5 inches in size. The only thing the user must never forget to prolong the pleasure of reading is to protect the display and the device itself with a reliable iPhone 4 case. At the same time, the iPad has a 9.7 inch screen, which is almost thrice bigger than the iPhone's one. Of course, the phone can be all right for doing some e-reading, but if you do it all the time, the size really matters, as your eyes can get tired from reading the small font. The preference in this case should undoubtedly be given to the iPad as the ideal reading device for reading and similar activities.

As for viewing videos and other media, the Retina display of iPhone 4 is again very impressive. Moreover, while the iPad has a better resolution as compared to the iPhone 4′s (1,024x768 vs. 960x640), the latter can boast of an excellent pixel density of 326pi. It's Apple that should be granted the respect for succeeding in creating the highest resolution phone screen with amazing graphics. However, the size also matters here, as well as in the ebooks case. Although the graphics on the Apple iPad are not as razor sharp as on the iPhone 4, they are still easy on the eyes, so a 9.7 inch screen can beat out a 3.5 inch one in terms of viewing videos and similar media.

Let's move to the typing issue, like emailing and so on. Here, again, iPhone 4 definitely succeeds for emails and similar writing tasks. But if you decide to write long letters or even to create papers for work, then typing on the smaller display of iPhone 4 can tire your fingers after a while. Working with the iPad, your fingers will get more space to type. Besides, you can also connect a physical keyboard to the gadget to enjoy even more natural typing experience. However, you can't protect the latter with a cover like iPhone 4 case, so its security is under the question. Again, iPad wins, but not in the terms of protection.

Moving further we'll see how the Apple iPad stacks up to the iPhone 4 in terms of other activities and features, like storage and processing performance. Those users that usually need tons of storage out of their gadgets will be interested in the following comparison. Looking at the options of storage, we can see that iPhone 4 offers just two storage capacity versions: 16GB or 32GB, while the iPad offers three of them: 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB. Of course, 64GB version of iPad will beat the iPhone 4′s maximum capacity. However, 32GB is sufficient enough for a phone. The difference is just in the types of devices - the iPad, for example, is a much larger gadget, which can even be compared to a laptop. Therefore, it should be able to store plenty of data to confirm its rank of a do-it-all gadget. Normally, the user would opt to use the iPad as a device for storing lots of content like work data, films, music, and games. However, regardless of iPad's 64GB version existing, it's still a disappointment that such a big gadget has such scanty memory capacity. Perhaps, Apple should consider the way to add more storage capacity in the future.

When talking about processing performance, a surprise is emerging: both iPad and iPhone 4 feature Apple's 1GHz A4 processor. The next surprise is that the iPhone 4′s 512MB of RAM twice exceeds the amount of it in the iPad. Quite unexpected result for the difference in size and expectations - thinking logically you would assume the opposite as the case. Extra RAM installed in iPhone 4 ensures its smoother performance. As for the iPad, it will hopefully get more memory in the future.

The final part of the comparison discussion will be devoted to differences in design and camera features. There are lots of people admiring to take pictures of themselves, their friends, and other moments of life. So the question of the camera will be vital for them when choosing between iPhone 4 and iPad. Actually, we can guess what they would opt for at the very beginning, because there can't be any comparison on this ground. For some reason, Apple designers took the decision to not include any type of camera on the iPad at all. Nobody knows the exact reason for this, and the assumptions vary. Some of the Apple fans think that the device is just too clunky to include a camera. However, the absence of a front facing camera can't be explained with this fact. Most of the laptops are clunky, but still come with integrated webcams. So it's unclear why Apple neglected this area - perhaps, with the intention to include a camera on the next generation of the device, and generate high sales of it in the future. On the contrary, the iPhone 4 has as much as two cameras - a main 5-megapixel camera on the back and a smaller VGA camera at front for video chatting. The only worry is again to keep them protected, but a usual iPhone 4 case would be sufficient for that. So if even the phone takes this matchup so easily, the iPad could theoretically take it without any effort at all.

Finally, the iPhone could be preferred by those looking for both powerful and compact device. Most of the users appreciate that iPhone can fit easily in a purse or similar bag. In these terms iPad won't fit into the purse unless the latter is quite large. Moreover, it won't even fit in your pockets, so it can't be called a portable device, but it also shouldn't be. The device of such a type is not meant to compete with a mobile phone in point of portability, as it is rather of a home laptop class. And in that very class it can be considered highly portable, making itself so popular. So, in terms of size, iPhone 4 undoubtedly wins, but the iPad is very portable in its class as well.

That's about it. Both gadgets have advantages and disadvantages, offering just different features. Either way, having any of them is a strong addition to your gadgets collection. It's up to you what to choose - a do-it-all tablet, or a do-it-all phone.

iPhone Insurance - Is it Worth the Expense?

After you first spend money on your brand-new iPhone you cherish your new model and would like to enjoy it all the time. In all probability you'll bore your buddies to tears by going on and on and on about your new cell phone.

Once the initial pleasure has depleted slightly in all probability you'll begin to take into consideration the buying price of your iPhone and how much you would have to invest if your brand-new iPhone was stolen or impaired beyond use.

This is not a happy situation.

You'll want to look at this before it occurs.

In the united kingdom the iPhone 3GS will cost you £550 while be iPhone 3G will cost you approximately £350. That isn't the type of cash that anyone wants to have to pay out over again so it is clever to get your iPhone covered.

There is a handful of solutions to shield and insure you iPhone, specifically with your bank, under your home insurance or using a professional iPhone insurance.

A few bank accounts where you pay a month to month fee for the bank account itself will let you insure certain tools at no further expenditure. This could appear a good method but you have to pay the month-to-month bank fees plus bank is usually not expert at instantly and successfully repairing or replacing your iPhone.

Using your home insurance coverage to incorporate your apple company iPhone insurance can be a solution, but once again consider whether your home insurance company are industry experts at mending the iPhone or promptly replacing it. Likewise, think of what can happen to your home insurance premium the coming year if you will need to make a claim for a comparatively small item like an iPhone (small comparable to the buying price of your home). Chances are, your house insurance cover costs would increase.

This actually leaves the choice of specialist iPhone insurance.

There is a small handful of specialist and reputable iPhone insurance companies in the UK. These firms provide specialized and expert insurance coverage for insuring your iPhone for threats such as theft and accidental damage.

The unfortunate truth is that gadget theft and specifically iPhone theft is escalating. 28% of all street crime now involves a phone. Damage to your iPhone is a constant hazard, specially if you move about or holiday with your iPhone. Specialized iPhone insurance businesses should be able to insure you whilst you travel offshore.

So you will need to make your mind up whether the price of the iPhone insurance premium whether you pay monthly or yearly is worth mitigating the danger and very high cost replacement should your iPhone be thieved or ruined.

So make sure you insure your iPhone with a good iPhone insurance - you will need to research to get your iPhone insurance

How to Hide Photos in iPhone

Since I bought my first smartphone - the iPhone 3GS - it has become my key digital device. I save almost everything I can on it - who I know, all the details about them, and all the other information that make it possible for me to run my life smoothly. This craving has augmented along with the increasing capacities of the iPhone, superseding even my laptop. So it is fair enough to say that my iPhone contains loads of information that I consider quite sensitive.

But what would happen if someone steals my iPhone or if I lost it somewhere? How easy would it be for the person in possession of my iPhone to get access to the phone and the sensitive information that I have saved in it? And I wonder that even if it happens, can I prevent other people from finding out the most sensitive information in my iPhone?

Since there is lots of information saved in my iPhone, at first I should know what do I need to secure in my iPhone? I have been thinking about the information that is currently saved in my iPhone. It includes:

Everyone I know (Contacts, Facebook), when I'm in contact with them (SMS, Email, Recent calls), and who's most important (Favorites)
Everything I'm doing (my to-do list, Things) and when (Calendar)
Places I've been (to a certain extent, within Maps)
Photos I've taken, including scans of membership cards
Photos of my family member that I downloaded from my laptop to my iPhone
Websites I visit (Safari) and things I buy (eBay, confirmations stored in Email)
Certain bank account details, and passwords (within Contact entries and Notes)

There is no doubt in it that a lot of information about my life is saved in the iPhone, so how can I rely solely on the built-in function of iPhone to secure my such a valuable information? For example, my personal photos that I have just transferred from my computer to the iPhone; are very private and I don't want anyone else to access them and therefore I need to hide them so that even if someone gets access to my iPhone, he would not be able to view my personal family photos.

Folder Lock for iPhone is the iPhone version of my favorite file and folder locking software - Folder Lock. When I got to know that Folder Lock for iPhone is released I was very excited because I am using Folder Lock to lock down my confidential and important files on my computer and I was desperately looking for something similar to Folder Lock that can secure files in my iPhone too. So I downloaded Folder Lock for iPhone directly from iTunes App Store to my iPhone and have started to learn how can I secure my files, photos and other sensitive information that I have in my iPhone with this application?

Folder Lock for iPhone allows me to password protect and hide photos, videos and audios of all available formats, Microsoft Word files, PDF files, Excel sheets, notepad files and much more. It also allows me to secure files that I have downloaded from the internet.

It creates the secure storage called Locker where I can save almost everything I want. This Locker cannot be accessed, opened, moved or deleted without entering the correct password and no one can even hack into this Locker to steal your private information, because Folder Lock for iPhone comes with a powerful hack attempt monitoring technology that make it impossible for hackers to hack into the application.

Folder Lock for iPhone is the perfect application that I was looking for to hide photos in iPhone. Since it supports loads of extension types, so I need not to worry either it will hide the particular format of photos in which I have saved my photos or not. It can hide all types of jpg, jpeg, png, bmp, bmpf, gif, tif, tiff, ico, cur and xbm photos. It comes with a special picture viewer with which I can view my protected files in a slideshow.

Mark Neil is associated with New Software Inc that provides Folder Lock for iPhone software.

Why Repairing Your iPhone is Always Worth the Money

Many people question if it's worth the money to repair a damaged iPhone, so I am here to clear up any misunderstandings that people have when it comes to the value of iPhone repairs. The truth is that it is always wise to repair a broken iPhone, even if you are going to trade it in on a 4th Generation model.

First, some basic facts about how much an iPhone really costs. As many readers know, an iPhone's true cost is not the price you actually paid for it at the AT&T or the Apple store when you sign a new 2 year contract. The price you paid when you signed a 2-year contract is actually a subsidized price, so what you paid is actually reduced by AT&T since you are agreeing to stick with them for another 2 years. You can only be granted this subsidized price if you are eligible for an upgrade (which is about every 12-20 months). The true retail price of the current 4th Generation iPhone, if you went into an AT&T or an Apple store and did not sign a contract is $600 for a 16gb and $700 for a 32gb. For a 3GS iPhone with 8gb of memory, you will fork out around $500.

Now AT&T does offer something called an "Early Upgrade" with iPhones. This allows the customer to purchase a new iPhone BEFORE their next upgrade date by signing a NEW 2-year contract. For the new 2-year contract you would get a different subsidized price (And yes, special limitations apply). The Early Upgrade prices are also very high. For a 4th Generation iPhone, you will pay $400 for a 16gb iPhone, and $500 for a 32gb iPhone. A 3GS iPhone with 8gb of memory would set you back $300.

The frustrating part for iPhone repair companies is that most people have no clue that their broken phone is actually repairable in almost all cases. Customers who bring their broken devices into an AT&T store looking for a solution are led to believe that they are forced to buy a brand-new iPhone at high prices. Of course, this is money in the bank to AT&T and Apple. If your device was lost or stolen, indeed the only way to replace it is to buy a new one. But there is no reason to take that kind of a loss on an iPhone that is merely damaged. Repairing your iPhone is completely worth your money. Anything else would be like buying a new car because you get into a minor traffic accident.

In reality, most repairs for iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS can be done for less than $100. That means you can save over $200 if you repair your existing iPhone rather than agree to an early upgrade. All repairs for the iPhone 4 are listed under $200, again $200 less than replacing your device at the early upgrade price.

What if your current iPhone is broken, but you are eligible for an upgrade and able to buy a new iPhone 4 at the $200-300 price with a new 2 year contract? Is it still worth the money to repair the broken iPhone even though you can upgrade it? Absolutely. You could invest in repairing your current device, and then sell it for the same price if not more than an iPhone 4 at the subsidized price. These used phones, undamaged and in working condition sell for over $200. By not repairing the damaged iPhone, you are either going to discard a used device worth over $200, or you are going to give it to a third party, who will repair it and resell it.

The bottom line is that it is always economical to repair a damaged device in any situation, even if you are doing so to sell it.

Restrictions on iPhone Application Development

As an iPhone application developer you may find iPhone to be an ideal platform or device/gadget to develop a killer application to sell and make a good fortune. But wait, every thing is not as plain as you see. There are some restrictions laid by Apple, producer of the iPhone, which may have negative impact over your development plan. Consider the following before putting in the hard work for developing your own application.

One application at a time

The first restriction put by Apple is "Only one application can run at a time". This means if you are surfing over the Internet and some one calls you, then you have to quit the surfing to attend the incoming call. Suppose you are on a secure server and you have to frequently leave the page, then it becomes a headache for you to give username and password every time. This seems a problem for user but what for the developer?

Yes, it is something for developer to think over too. Suppose you have developed a GPS application which needs constant support from the user to collect a particular data for your geo-location, then again it makes a compulsion for the user to continue with the same application and ignore all important calls for you. This makes the implications of that application vague.

No third party in background

Another restriction is "no third party application will run in background". This means instant messengers will not be able to collect messages for you while you are attending an important call. It will show you offline as soon as you switch over to another application. Similarly, it is true for any application, which has to interact with web for periodical updated or for its smooth functioning would prove useless here. Even the whole class of such application will prove useless or significantly less useful than they otherwise would be.

Control on apps

Apple store is formed for the centric distribution of the apps. None can directly distribute any apps and one has to come at the Apple store for its marketing purpose. It not only acts as a marketing point for the developers but can prove a gateway for the iPhone application developers.

You have to take permission for the entrance as an iPhone developer by registering with Apple. When your apps get in the store, Apple will decide weather it will stay there or not by NetShare or any other means. There are again threats for you that they may reject your apps or make significant delay in the release. This may lead to fatal consequences for a developer.

Revoking the certificate

Apple can exert vertical control over the iPhone application developer by simply revoking the certificate given. You may want to ask that how is it related to its apps development if it is already finished? You are right but you may know that since Apple forces all legitimate iPhone apps to be signed, if the certificate is on the "revocation list" no apps signed with that certificate will run anywhere. This would come as quite a shock to your paying customers.

No support for previous versions

"Applications targeting iPhone OS releases prior to 3.0 beta cannot be tested in this seed"

"This software should only be installed on devices dedicated exclusively for iPhone 3.0 beta application development"

"Devices updated to iPhone 3.0 beta cannot be restored to earlier versions of iPhone OS"

"iPhone SDK for iPhone 3.0 cannot be used for submitting iPhone OS 2.2.1 applications to the App Store"

All this has two important implications. If you are an iPhone developer, you'll need two development machines and two iPhones to be able to work on your 2.x OS-based apps while checking out and upgrading code for the 3.0 OS.
